The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in the 2019 Landscape: Navigating Compliance Trends, Developments, and Challenges
As restrictions and interpretations of what constitutes an Automatic Telephone Dialing System (ATDS) remain ambiguous, companies that do business through telemarketing become more prone to class action lawsuits filed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Recently, the Ninth Circuit released its statutory definition of ATDS as an “equipment which has the capacity – (1) to store numbers to be called or (2) to produce numbers to be called, using a random or sequential number generator – and to dial such numbers” setting aside the prior interpretation made by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Until the FCC releases its final ATDS guidance and definition, businesses may be faced with profound compliance hurdles. Thus, keeping themselves abreast with recent developments, policies, and risk mitigation strategies to overcome potential challenges become more imperative.
In this LIVE Webcast, a panel of key thought leaders and professionals assembled by The Knowledge Group will provide the audience with an in-depth analysis of the significant trends and developments in TCPA’s Automatic Telephone Dialing System (ATDS).
