In November 2015, the Department of Labor (DOL) released its proposed regulations that will upgrade existing procedures in determining disability benefit claims under ERISA plans. The proposed new rules will revise and strengthen the current rules for adjudication of disability benefit claims with claims and appeals procedures for non-grandfathered group health plans under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
