These, along with other challenges that are further worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasize the need for law firms and organizations to come up with wellness programs and initiatives that will mitigate the risks of professional dysfunction and maintain the well-being of lawyers.

Cari is a licensed social worker working in community mental health for over 30 years. She received her MSW from the University of Maryland in 1995 and worked for Johns Hopkins Bayview and then Threshold Services where she served as Program Director, Rehabilitation Director and Clinic Director and Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Cho has implemented multiple evidence based practices, including Integrated Treatment for Co-occurring Disorders, Motivational Interviewing, Supported Employment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. She facilitates training and consulting on these topics in Maryland and DC. In 2012, Ms. Cho became the CEO of Cornerstone Montgomery (merger between Threshold Services and St. Luke’s House). She is a board member for the National Council for Behavioral Health.
