Victor Truong has been consulting and assisting multi-national companies in the area of international trade & commodity taxes.
He has acted for and advised corporations on a wide range of trade related matters and international trade issues related to importing and exporting, including NAFTA qualification, HS tariff classification, valuation, and appeals before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal.
In addition to trade matters in Canada, he has successfully represented and assisted clients, through the vast Global Supply Chain network and legal association, in matters before the US Department of Commerce and European Union Courts Trade.
He has a bachelor degree in Economics, specialization in International Trade from the University of Waterloo. In addition to his business background, he also completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Newcastle, in which his area of focus study was Maritime & Admiralty Law. Victor brings an innovative and dynamic view to customs compliance given that his field of specialty lies in International Trade and Maritime Law.
His experience in customs law and best practices in the area of international trade has help many clients minimize duty and excise tax, including GST; and avoid other interest and penalties by strategically structuring the global supply chain and reviewing transactions for customs valuation, tariff classification, and trade agreements & treaties. He has also has extensive knowledge and experience with the international transfer pricing.
