TEXAS CLE REQUIREMENTS
Whether you’re an experienced or newly admitted Texas attorney, here’s what you need to know about the TX CLE rules and how to get your Texas CLE Requirements fulfilled with a Knowledge Group CLE Bundle.
Texas CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Texas shall complete fifteen (15) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least three (3) credit hours of legal ethics/professional responsibility subjects.
Compliance Deadline: Last day of birth month
Reporting Deadline: Last day of birth month
Compliance Cycle: Annual for attorneys licensed for two years or more. Initial compliance cycle for newly admitted attorneys is biennial.
TX CLE Requirements Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group does not automatically submit CLE application for all our programs in Texas. Attendees seeking approved credits shall register at least 20 days prior to the event. For more information, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Program Format: The Knowledge Group LIVE Webcasts qualify as live presentations in Texas. There is no limit to the number of credits a Texas attorney can earn via live presentations. View our list of LIVE Webcasts.

TX CLE Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group submits attendance report for approved courses to Texas MCLE.
Update: The State Bar of Texas has granted automatic extensions of CLE reporting deadline in light of COVID-19.
For Newly Admitted Attorneys
Texas CLE Requirements For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Initial MCLE compliance year of newly admitted Texas attorneys is a 24-month period. It begins on the first day of the month they were born, after the date they are licensed. It ends two years later, on the last day of the month that immediately precedes the month they were born.
Newly-licensed attorneys may also claim MCLE credit for accredited CLE completed one year prior to the beginning date of the initial compliance year.
