MCLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in South Carolina shall complete fourteen (14) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least two (2) credit hours of legal ethics/professional responsibility (LEPR). Attorneys must complete one (1) hour of LEPR devoted exclusively to instruction in substance abuse, mental health issues or stress management and the legal profession at least once every three (3) years.

Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group does not submit application for CLE credits in South Carolina. Attorneys may apply directly for individual course approval by completing and submitting a Uniform Application for Accreditation of CLE Activity, along with a $25 per course application fee. Along with the application, you will be required to submit a copy of the program’s brochure, agenda and handout materials. Attendees seeking approved credits should send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Program Format: The Knowledge Group webcasts qualify as alternatively delivered courses in South Carolina. Attorneys are limited to six (6) credits of alternatively delivered programs per compliance period. View our list of LIVE Webcasts and Recorded Webcasts.
Attendance Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group does not submit attendance report to South Carolina Commission on CLE and Specialization.
For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys in the state of South Carolina are exempted from MCLE requirements in the reporting year in which they are licensed.
