RHODE ISLAND CLE REQUIREMENTS

Whether you’re an experienced or newly admitted Rhode Island attorney, here’s what you need to know about the RI CLE rules and how to get your Rhode Island CLE Requirements fulfilled with a Knowledge Group CLE Bundle.

Rhode Island CLE Requirements: All attorneys admitted to practice in Rhode Island shall complete ten (10) credit hours of continuing legal education including at least two (2) credit hours of legal ethics.

Reporting Deadline: June 30

Compliance Cycle: Annual

Approval of Programs: The Knowledge Group is not an accredited provider in the state of Rhode Island. Attorneys may seek individual course accreditation in behalf of unapproved sponsors. For more information, send an email to info@theknowledgegroup.org

Rhode Island CLE Program Format: The Knowledge Group webcasts qualify as online courses in Rhode Island. A maximum of six (6) credits may be earned for online courses. View our list of LIVE Webcasts and Recorded Webcasts.

RI CLE Reporting Procedure: The Knowledge Group does not submit attendance report to Rhode Island MCLE Commission.

For Newly Admitted Attorneys: Newly admitted attorneys in the state of Rhode Island are exempted from CLE requirements until the second July 1 after they sworn in. They are however required to take the one-day, mandatory “Rhode Island Bridge the Gap” course upon admission to the Rhode Island Bar unless at the time of admission he or she has been admitted in another jurisdiction for a period of three (3) years.
